Introduction

Catholic Charities USA (“CCUSA,” “we,” “us” or “our”) provides the CCUSA website (“Website”) to you (“You” or “User,” collectively “Users”). This Privacy Policy applies to the collection of personal information by CCUSA through www.catholiccharitiesusa.org and any sub-domains thereof (each of which constituting a part of the Website). By using the Website, you acknowledge you have read and understood the terms and conditions of this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree to the terms and conditions of this Privacy Policy, please do not use the Website.

Your use of the Website is also governed by our Terms of Service.

Information Collected

CCUSA may collect personal or aggregate information about Users of the Website. Personal information includes, for example:

  • Your name, email address, mailing address, phone number or other information or preferences that you voluntarily provide to CCUSA (e.g., when registering for an account). Personal information also includes the username or password used to create a registered account necessary to access Members-only areas or services.
  • Usage information, such as how you and your device interact with our Website (e.g., the pages you visit, the search terms you enter).
  • Information included in your employment application such as job history and education information.
  • Information you voluntarily provide when making a donation, such as billing address.

This information CCUSA agrees to maintain the confidentiality of personal information in accordance with the exceptions described herein.

Aggregate information is non-personally identifiable or anonymous information about Users, such as but not limited to the frequency that certain webpages are accessed by Users and the amount of time spent on individual webpages or sections of the Website, the number of visits to the Website by Users, types of browsers used by Users, cookie preferences, and search terms entered by Users. Aggregate information is used in a collective manner, and no single person can be identified by the compiled information.

Use of Information Collected

We use the information we collect from you for the following purposes:

CCUSA also reserves the right to report to law enforcement agencies any activities that CCUSA, in good faith, believe to be unlawful.

CCUSA may also disclose personal information with third party service providers, agents or independent contractors who help us maintain our Website and provide other administrative services to us.

If you make a donation, we share your personal information with unaffiliated third parties, such as our payment processor, necessary to fulfill your donation.

Finally, we may share your personal information in the course of any direct or indirect reorganization process including, but not limited to, mergers, acquisitions, and sales of all or substantially all of our assets.

Your California Privacy Rights and How We Respond to “Do Not Track” Signals

California Civil Code Section 1798.83 permits Users who are California residents to request certain information, once a year, regarding our disclosure of personal information to third parties for their direct marketing purposes. We do not share personal information with third parties for their direct marketing purposes.

At this time our Website does recognize automated browser signals regarding tracking mechanisms, which may include “Do Not Track” instructions.

Changes to this Privacy Policy

We reserve the right to change this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will also revise the “Effective Date” at the top of this Privacy Policy. If we make material changes to the Privacy Policy, we will notify you by placing a prominent notice on our websites and/or via email at the email address we have on file for you.
